As of March 2025, I am an Assistant Professor in the Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Kufa. My specialization is in information and communications engineering, with a focus on channel coding for communication systems and data storage units.
From January 2024 to February 2025, I was a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in the ECE Department at the University of Kufa. I was also the director of engineering laboratories in the department until October 2024.
From October 2018 to December 2023, I was a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Coding and Cryptography (COD) group, the Institute of Communications Engineering, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, which is led by Prof. Antonia Wachter-Zeh. In October 2023, I successfully defended my PhD dissertation whose title is "Coding and Bounds for Unreliable Data Storage Memories".
From July until September 2023, I had a research visit at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Communication System Laboratory (CSL), Los Angeles, California, USA, under Professor Richard Wesel's guidance.
For a part of my dissertation results, I have been nominated as a candidate for the "Memorable Award Paper" Prize in the 14th Non-Volatile Memories Workshop (NVMW'23) held by the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), USA, for the extended abstract “Trading Partially Stuck Cells with Errors”.
